Alzheimer's Walk

The girls and I braved the cold Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago to finally participate in the Alzheimer's Walk. Thanks to the Storey family for getting us involved with such a great event! It's a disease that hits a little too close to home seeing as my grandma had it for a few years before passing away so Addalyn, Macey and I were happy to do our little part towards finding a cure. Oh, and Slugger was there and Addalyn is apparently still terrified of him. She made her poor Uncle Johnny bend down for at least 10 minutes to hold her until his old man knees got tired. She felt safer in the stroller and wouldn't let him take her out to be held for some reason.

Great Wolf Lodge

I took the girls to the Great Wolf Lodge this weekend and as expected, they had a blast! I wouldn't have been able to do it without LeAnn's help because the girls were all over the place. Ms. Macey has NO fear and several times got herself out of the pool, went up the stairs and down the slide without even making sure somebody was at the bottom to catch her. A few times I even let her go all the way under and the second I picked her up out of the water, she'd look terrified, cough a few times and then shout "NOTHER ON, NOTHER ONE!" as she'd wiggle her way out of my arms to go back to the steps of the slide. Now Addy, on the other hand, wanted nothing to do with the slide. She was splashing around by herself in the water, being much braver than normal, but the slide scared her. I was sure once she went down it she'd love it and want to do it over and over again, so I gave her a gentle nudge at the top of the slide, and boy was she angry! She screamed louder than I've ever heard her scream (plus it echoed really bad!) and wanted nothing to do with me for several minutes. I felt terrible! Then, she accidently went a 2nd time (which LeAnn caught on tape) but she went down on her belly. Not a good idea. Once again, she was ticked. She eventually went and loved and and did it over and over and over again. What a fun day!

Macey Has Croup!

My poor litte Mace woke up a few mornings ago with the oddest sounding cough. When I got her out of her crib she sounded like she was really struggling to breathe and was making a wheezing sound. I took her to the doctor to find out she had croup. It's a viral infection so no antibiotics were given, but the doc did give her a steroid to help the inflamation in her throat go down. Her little raspy voice was so cute, but the wheezing was kinda scary. I think she felt a lot worse than she looks in these pictures. :)

Learning To Whistle

The munchkins started "whistling" for Reggie after hearing dad or I do it. I'm pretty sure they think they're really doing it! I videoed this when we were on the way to the airport a couple of weeks ago. I was heading to Atlanta for work, so that's where the "bye mama" comes from. :)

The Happiest Girls Ever!

I absolutely love this video of the girls! The new Miley Cyrus song came on and they both started singing along and dancing around and making each other giggle. It's the sweetest sound ever! If only they always interacted like this...

An Attempt At A Macey Story

Macey's a little harder to catch for a good chat session. She's not like her sister that is always wanting to perform. But Macey has the sweetest voice and I love the stories she does tell when she's in the mood!

Addy's Doctor Visit

Addalyn had to go to the doctor 2 weeks ago because she kept saying that her front bottom (haha!) hurt when she pottied. She had yet another urinary tract infection and was put on more antibiotics. The doctor said that she really wanted an ultrasound done on her kidneys, especially since I didn't get one done after her UTI earlier in the year. I took the poor baby down to Childrens Mercy for the ultrasound and she tried so hard to be a big girl...but once we went in the the quiet, dark room, she lost it. It took a minute to calm her down, but once she realized it didn't hurt and saw her "lunch" on the screen, she was good to go. I haven't recieved any results back yet, but I'm going with the "no news is good news" theory on this one.

Another Addalyn Story...

She's so hilarious! I love her stories. Especially ones where she thinks that her earrings had peanut butter in them, hence the allergic reaction. :)

Another Park Day!

Macey was SO funny at the English Landing Park. She loved the slides and wasn't scared of anything. This little video is so cute because you can see her excitement as her tiny little legs ran as fast as they could to go to the stairs after sliding, over and over and over again. I'd have thought she'd get dizzy! Also, I love the picture of her swinging and covering her ears because of the super loud train that was going by. She kept saying, "LLLLLOOOUUUUDDDD, Mama!"

Parkville Days

After watching the news broadcast from Parkville Days last weekend, we decided we HAD to go to get a funnel cake. Well worth the trip! The kids had such a blast playing games and winning crappy prizes that we don't need in our house. :) Zander and Sterling both went down the GIANT super fast slide and Macey immediately wanted to go too. Addalyn wanted nothing to do with it until she saw Macey do it and survive. They LOVED it and Addy's still talking about the giant slide. Each time they went Macey would say "Nother one! Nother one! And me!"! There's also a couple random pics of the girls I had to add. :)

A Day At The Park

We went to Englewood Park last weekend, once again, taking advantage of the fabulous weather. Everything was going great until Zander accidently let their dog off the leash to jump in the lake and chase away the geese. It was complete chaos. Between a screaming Zander, a barking/swimming dog and honking geese, we created quite the scene!

I Love When Aunt Melanie Visits...

...because she makes the time to take photos of the girls and I! It's been almost a year since the last ones she took and I can't believe how much the girls have grown (especially baby Macey!). We went to Weston yesterday and enjoyed the glorious weather and some special mommy/daughters time. Then we went to Barnes and Noble where they got a book that Melanie and I have read at least 27 times so far...EACH!

My Birthday With My Babies!

Here's a few pictures of my birthday dinner with my family. We ate at Tokoyo Japanese Steakhouse, and other than Addy having her eyes and ears covered the ENTIRE time our meal was being prepared (with lots of banging and fire), we had a fabulous night. Then it was back home for cake and ice cream which was clearly the girls favorite part. Addy's still talking about wanting to buy me a birthday gift...a bicycle with a bell and a basket! :)

Deanna Rose Farm

Brook and I took the kiddos out to Deanna Rose Farm on Friday. We had a lot of fun (would have been more fun had I remember a stroller for Macey!). They loved pointing out all the animals and they even fed the billy goats. Turns out though, both of my little ladies are terrified of...take a guess...seriously...you won't even believe it...they're scared of cows!!! They were okay with it until it decided to "mmmmooooooooo" and they both lost it! Don't worry. You know me...the camera was rolling!
