Rockin' The Red Carpet
Homegrown Butterflies
McKinstry Girls Lawn Care

After 9 long months in this house, it was finally time to plant some grass seed out front. There was a big bare spot under the tree so I put the little ladies to work. It's been 1 week and there's new grass everywhere out there! Of course, the big blanket looking thing isn't too appealing, but it seems to be working.
The Best Way To Wake A Sleeping Child
Do you want your kiddo to wake up happy? Then wake him/her with happy thoughts of Yogurtini! Macey was in a deep sleep and I barely got her to stir with the mention of dinner...but the second she heard Yogurtini, her little eyes sprung open as she started naming all the topping she wanted.

"Marshmallows" For Macey
After a neverending conversation between Macey and I that went a lot like this:
"Mama, can I have a marshmallow?"
"Those aren't marshmallows, Macey, please put them back."
"Mama, I reeeeealllllllly want a marshmallow! Can I have a marshmallow?"
"Not a marshmallow, sweetie. Please put the cotton balls back."
"But mama, I want a maaaaaarssssshmallllllloooooow"
I finally told her she could try one in hopes that she'd stop asking. This girl worries me! God love her. :-)

A Typical Day
This pretty much sums up their personalities. You'll notice that Mace fell asleep while eating a cheeseburger. Eating and sleeping, her two favorite things! And then there's Addalyn, who's always wanting to help. I can't remember the last time I brought our recycle bin inside. She does it for me every Monday. They're so very different but equally amazing, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Addalyn's Doctor Filled Day
After her blood draw :-(

I took 2 pictures of this part of the exam...the flash went off on the first one. I was so embarrassed. I'm pretty sure they dim the lights for a reason...whoops!

It was a day of good news all around. First off, she has outgrown her peanut allergy! Thank goodness. That's a huge stress relief. Turns out though, she doesn't like it anyway.
Her eye exam appointment at Childrens Mercy was to check on her eye that constantly waters. It's been doing it pretty much since birth and Addalyn seems to be a little more bothered by it now than she used to be. The ophthalmologist said that the tube that drains from her eye is constricted. She said Addalyn could have surgery on it where they would probe the tear duct and put a tiny silicone piece in the tube to keep it open. OR, we could live with it for a while and see if she possibly outgrows it. As she grows, the tube can grow also. Clearly, I opted for the second option. Her eyes are perfect otherwise!
