Another Walking Video
She's certainly walking more than she's crawling now! I can't believe my baby is walking. She can't get up yet without grabbing onto something to pull herself up, but she's getting there!

Curly Locks
The Loves of my Life!
These babies had me laughing so hard last night when they were in the bath. After a few minutes I finally grabbed the camera. I LOVE how they interact with each other now (as long as the interacting doesn't involve fighting--which it often does!).
Macey Taking Steps
Mace walked from the coffee table all the way into the kitchen last night! It's so funny how she always says "boom!" when she falls and she tends to fall so gracefully. She's getting there though!

Mace
I had another video that I accidently deleted that was so darn funny. When I set vegetables in front of her to eat, she always rocks her whole body back and forth and says "no? no? no?" always in the form of a question. I accidently deleted the vid of it and tried it again, but this time she was hungry enough to eat them. Every time she hears the word 'outside' -- even when it's just my dad asking the dog if he needs to go outside -- Macey says "burrrr!" which I did manage to catch on this video. She also gets a kick out of blowing on her food, Addy's food and my food if she thinks it's too hot.

The Sweetest Voice
My favorite part of the morning is when I listen outside of Macey's bedroom door to her "talking". Her voice is so stinkin' precious! She's been "talking" to me a lot more with very serious expressions like what she's saying is so important. When I ask if she wants to go outside, she says "burrrr!" and usually when I ask if she wants to go night night she says "no?" but more in the form of a question than a statement. I love it!
Macey is 13 months...and still not walking!

She's getting close though. She took 11 baby steps the other night. When it was warm out the other day, I took her outside and held her hand and we walked all over the back yard. She loved it! She did really well too. I didn't even have to hold both hands. Just one. She stands for longer periods of time now too. I'm afraid for Addalyn once Macey does walk though. She's kind of a bully and screams and swings at Addy a lot more than a baby sister should!
Poor Addy!

Geez. Where did the time go? I haven't posted in a while. Have had many ups and downs over the past few weeks to try and sort through. This week has been one of the "down" weeks, for sure. There's been so much happening and I've been trying to nurse poor Addalyn back to health. She had a really high fever Saturday morning when she woke up. She really seemed to act okay until her fever would spike again over the next couple days (when I say spike...I mean spike...got up to 104.9 TWICE!). We had a few sleepless tear filled nights, between her high temp and her terrible chills. I figured it was just a bug and my 3 a.m. phone call with "ask-a-nurse" said the same thing. By the 3rd day of the high fever though, she started vomitting too. I took her into the doctor where they did a flu test and a strep test which both came back negative. I got her to potty in a cup while we were there so they could test that, and sure enough, my poor girl has a UTI (urinary tract infection)! I guess all the levels were pretty high (not sure what this means, protein and blood and something else...?). She got an antibiotic injection (one in each leg) and then we were told to come back the next day. When we went back yesterday, she seemed to be doing better, her fever had been down for several hours so they gave me a prescription to get filled for her to take for the next 10 days. Of course, an hour after we got home, she got the chills again, fever went up to 102.5 and she was back to just laying around. I called the doctor AGAIN, had to bring her in AGAIN, and she had to get 2 antibiotic injections AGAIN. It broke my heart! It was so hard having Macey there too and trying to keep her entertained and love on Addy at the same time. I started her on her oral antibiotic this morning and in 10 days once she's finished it, I have to take her in for an ultrasound on her kidneys to make sure she doesn't have any kidney damage. Let's all say a quick prayer that she's fine! She's been through enough, that's for sure.

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town!
Here's Addalyn's new favorite Christmas song. She's apparently on repeat mode!

Macey Mace

Macey still isn't walking, but she did stand for about 10 seconds last night without holding onto anything. I was so excited that I think I scared her so she collapsed. :) She has added a few new words to her vocabulary. Thanks to her big sister, I hear "NNNNOOO!" from her all the time accompanied by her chubby little finger pointing at me. She gets really excited when she sees a banana and says "nana" or sometimes "nanana". She looks outside and (with lots of emotion) says "BURRR!". If she's standing by the door she always goes up on her tip toes to say it. When she's in the bath she says "ba" over and over. I can only assume she's trying to say "bath". She knows where her "pretty hair" is and her belly button. She's been giving me tons of hugs and kisses lately for no reason. I love it! I'll be sitting on the floor and she'll crawl over and lay her head on my leg and make a "mmmmm" sound and then look up and smile her sweet smile. She barks everytime she sees Reggie, but it's more of a "oo oo oo" than a bark and when she sees a duck she says "ah ah ah". Hmmm...that's all I can think of for now, but she's doing something new everyday so I'm sure I'll have more to post soon! I'm also including a video of the little stinker eating Gigi's apple. She's never had an apple and I took my eyes off of her for one second and she started eating it like she's done it a hundred times before!
PS--You should all know that I did not serve her the tray full of Goldfish! That was all Addy!

Santa Baby!
The girls got to meet Santa on Saturday. Addalyn asked him for a "wone and a tamra"...a.k.a. a "phone and a camera". Macey wasn't too sure about it, but they both had fun. Addy made (and then ate) a pretty Christmas tree and played a fun game of Candyland. They looked so precious in their pretty dresses!Tuesday, November 25, 2008
My Girls

There are so many pictures from Macey's party that I had to add a few more. She loved facing forward in her new car seat! She was smiling so big and kept looking all around her...and then they both obviously fell asleep! Also, she got Birthday French Toast for breakfast yesterday that she really seemed to enjoy until she puked up every last bite. I think she just ate too fast! :) And then there's the kiddos in the bath with their "big hair" as Addalyn calls it.

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY, MACEY LEE!

I can't believe that my baby girl is already a year old. It's been so amazing to view the world around us through her eyes, with such curiosity and innocence. I may have taught her a thing or two in this past year, but she's taught me more than she'll ever know. She's just so darn sweet, I can't get enough of her! Neither can her big sister Addy, even though it drives Macey crazy sometimes. Happy Birthday to my precious baby girl!

Addalyn at the Dentist!
Addy had her first dental cleaning today and she did GREAT! I was so proud of her and her pearly whites! She was a little unsure at first and did some whimpering, but then had her teeth counted and polished like a pro. She was so excited about her new toothbrush and the prize she got to pick at the end. She's such a big girl!

She's Out Of Control!
Apparently Mommys camera isn't the only one that Addy has figured out how to use. She snapped these 5 pictures (plus 12 more) on Grammy's camera and then a few days ago I had 14 new videos on my camera. Most of them were of Addy's stroller or the TV, but a few of them were of her trying to smile for a picture. Anytime she starts to act up, I tell her she better behave or Santa won't bring her a camera for Christmas...works like a charm!

Happy Halloween!
We had so much fun trick-or-treating this year. Addalyn loved it and did great at saying "tank yooouuu" to everybody that gave her candy. She wasn't so happy when she realized that Mommy wasn't going to let her eat it all right then and there though. Poor girl got one sucker and a few Whoppers all night. :) Macey was worn out and I don't think that little bee felt so hot because she managed to sleep through all the music and the big crowd of people. Overall though, it was a great night!
